I'm not fond of 'love me' or 'love my stuff' postings, and dedicating such things to cherished artists is even more under the pale - but I finally let the old cat out of her cage and couldn't resist the whim. She ran fine, though the pollen dirtied her up a bit...
Sir William's distinctive styling touch is quite evident in the Mark 2, though it was in essence an entry level car. Other than some uprated mechanical bits for safety, modern paint, a modernized/salvaged AC system and the rare Coombs rear wheel arch covers, this one's pretty much as built in 1963. The trip still left her with less than 32,000 miles on the clock.
Think there's a Mark 2 rendering asset out there...
Photo is just a quick snap with my phone..no post-work to clean up the over exposure etc. The work goes into scenes.

Thanks enigma-man - not as flashy as the Xk's and E's, but far more practical. The small saloons kept Jaguar solvent much in the same way as the K-cars did for Mopar, though K cars didn't have lunch tables in the front seats. From what I recall, Sir William only netted about 5 quid per copy....

The '56 would be an XK140 OTS or DHC. Not as clean as the 120, and not as mechanically modern as the 150, but a really nice mix of the two. Still very popular, and fun to drive though the drum brakes make you think before mixing it up on today's roads...

Thanks Saby - had a lot less personal wrench and gun time in this one than the XK or Triumphs but it took awhile....hopefully she'll be worth it.

As you might expect, I'm not a car kind of girl but I have to admit that's a beautiful machine. Uhm, Jaguar? English right? I don't see these around where I live in the middle of the U.S. of A. XD

Thanks Molly - just a Galaxy 7 - I think. The car was my attempt to have a practical sporty car that wasn't susceptible to as much wear and tear as the XK or Triumphs, had air for Florida summers and room for a rather plumpish Labrador. The dog was long gone before the car was finished....

She cost a lot in a number of ways. One last little squeak (glazed rear brake shoes) and she's good to go.
