Actually, I don't enjoy posting such pictures anymore, when I see these atrocities in Ukraine, it literally takes your breath away, but we all need them to be able to switch off at least a little from this cruel reality!

Me neither, sometimes it seems to me like I'm having a bad nightmare from which I can't wake up and I can't fall asleep without sleeping pills!

I'm afraid that I can believe what's happening in the Ukraine. Putin's entire history has been one of cruelty and murder, of his opponents and the peoples in Chechnya and elsewhere. The Russian people have little chance to remove him; I believe it was Stalin who said: "It's not who votes that counts, it's who counts the votes."
What disgusts me are the people in this country who admired him, even as he was invading: Trump, Tucker Carlson, et al.

It all makes me sad and very angry. It really needs to stop. Your pain is evident in your art, Ute, you have a good heart.
The atrocities are just wicked. No regard for human life. Plundering, looting, shooting, raping - a catalogue of dreadful abysmal behaviour - already observed with the Red Army in Berlin and Vienna ... The Russian Army needs to be ttally refored and made up of real soldiers, not these criminals. I am far too old to fight; otherwise I would volunteer. We thought this sort of behaviour died out with Hitler's War. But the Soviet's mindset - especially Putin, like Stalin's, doesn't care for humans and treats their own people are cannon fodder. It is disgusting.

Historically, this is how Putin's military works. Bludgeon the populace of whatever country is on his to-do list into submission with extreme cruelty in order to minimize any kind of resistance. He's done it before. And the Russian military has done it before. Even before Putin. Stalin was the same.

You've done an excellent job of expressing the pain and suffering cause by a tyrant. Mistreating his own people isn't enough for him he has to start war in a peaceful country where people only want to live their lives in peace. It is what happens when a bully has power to force others to do his dirty work.

Putin is a madman but he will never win. His day is coming and it is not going to end well for him. History will erase his memory from its record and he will just be foul food for the worms. Nothing more.
I understand your hesitance to post pictures of the conflagration in Ukraine, but you've been one of the few who've consistently reminded this site that this war still goes on, and the catastrophe continues. So it's good that you've posted all these images. This shows a hospital room in carnage...a wrecked ceiling, destroyed metal bed frames, intravenous lines going nowhere, and ghosts looking for redemption. The woman in front may be a survivor, maybe she's seeking someone forever lost, or mourning the fate of her entire country. A very powerful image, showing wreckage and despair. I don't know what it will take to stop Putin's rage, and I don't understand why he's still in power...A powerful reminder once again. I greatly appreciate all the images you've posted on this war.
