Excellent composition! Lovely!
It looks like a fortress. Wonderful landscape, superb shot.
a big wall of rock and brush (and small trees): Formidable. I assume the road is going into some curves, or maybe falling-rock zones (thus no passing). A foreboding dark mass, and quite an "in your face" capture. The red flags really stand out against all this green, brown and gray.
(If you've ever driven in Vermont---in the mountains---you see 'no passing' zones everywhere because of the endless curves and one-lane each way. Years ago, vermont drivers were slowwwwwwww, and I got behind an egg farmer who drove 2 miles an hour (I swore), had 5 ot 6 live chickens in the back of his truck, never moved to the side---so we could pass---and never turned off at any exit. I was behind this guy for hours, swearing up a storm and pleading with the chickens to peck the guy iinto submission...when he finally turned into a truck stop. And I zoomed past him, screaming in my car "has anyone heard of the speed limit around here???" I was 2 hours late to my appt. I should have gotten off the highway, but I had no CLUE where I was. So I followed. That's a Vermont story if ever there was one...)
Such beautiful countryside here. A lovely photo, Richard.
