Getting a convincing underwater scene has long been a goal of mine and Superfly is so different from Firefly I was despairing of ever getting it but I thought I did pretty good here. I shall be doing more... perhaps even with sharks! =)

I appreciate that you are enjoying this series of pictures (all titles in the series start with the words "The Envoys") about a trio of very attractive humanoid aliens coming to earth. The big thing deep in the flooded quarry is the crash-landed spaceship. Beta, their science officer, is the lovely being that Neo inadvertently struck with his personal water craft and that Nova is currently trying to save from drowning.

What secrets lie below the depths? Incredible composition and great simulation of being underwater. The lighting and bubbles really help to sell the scene.

Thank you! It's funny that you mention the bubbles as they constitute the one area of the picture I wasn't satisfied with. I have to work on it but it was the best I could manage at my current level of skill. It's so reassuring that I managed to get to "good enough" with them, if not perfect. Thanks again, for taking the time to give me this very helpful encouragement!

Missed this one. One thing I like in this scene is the bordering (momentarily forgot the term and will remember it whilst out in the garage or something) on the light which draws the viewer toward the action and creates a sense of depth without cluttered impedimenta in the background.

The term you're searching for is "vignette", I think. I was worried that it was a bit too obvious here but decided to go with it and after your comment, I'm glad I did. As always, lovely to hear your thoughts, JD. <3
