Description

Lady Penelope gestured toward the servant clank and said, "Professora, the Weasel is very nearly loaded to capacity. How much more are you going to purchase?" The clank called Weasel produced a grinding noise and then pronounced, "I have one arm yet free, my ladies. Continue to acquire as you will." The clank had a Santa hat draped precariously on it's head and was decorated like a metallic Christmas Tree. "Have you not read the delightful conceit by Mr. Dickens, Penelope? In it he touches the true spirit and meaning of Christmas I would believe. After reading it I am moved deeply to provide some token of my regard and thanks to everyone in our little society of research and adventure!" The Lady rolled her eyes. "Everyone?" "Yes," replied the Professora in her sternest tones. "Everyone!" Molly's art notes: This was set up and rendered in Poser 11.1 Pro with the Firefly rendering engine about 4 years ago. I took it into Photoshop to apply a bit of vignette and also the tint that makes it look a bit like the old gum bichromate film developing method. The Professora and Lady Penelope are based on V4 and the clank is a stand alone character by Jonnte. Lady Penelope is based on the original character of my dear friend from Second Life, EnglishDamsel. Currently, I've all but abandoned Firefly in the effort to learn the use of the physically based rendering engine, Superfly Cycles 2. I thought I'd poke around through some of my earlier work and share some of the better (in my humble opinion) works that I find. Enjoy! Or not, I guess...😉

Happy unknown known Lady doing Christmas shopping, enjoying her secret Teaser weapon. That smile is the real weapon, though. Gorgeous composition, brilliant awesome render.
Magnificent Masterpiece of Finest Arts. I love it!

Thank you, Marius. The professora has been a favorite character of mine for many years. She goes nowhere without the lightning wand. I am so pleased that you find her charming.

A fun take on Victoriana/steam-punk, would that the same spirit that drove people in those days was around today, I feel we'd fare better if it were

I like the elaborate language and manners as well as the look and feel of Victoriana, Paul. Throw in a bit of fantasy and science fiction and you have Steampunk! The sense of being honorable and unfailingly polite would serve us well in these fraught times, I agree.

Since the picture was a few years old, it took me a bit to find that shop content but I did and have added it to the posting here. It's the Victorian Gift Shop by GrayCloudDesign. I really appreciate your comment, Steve!

Delightful conceit...haven't heard that one in a bit. Perfect dialogue for the scene. Old material can still shine....

I like the elaborate language of the Victorian era. My usual dialogue is quite pedestrian in contrast and it's fun to try to work out something that has the proper sound and feel. I appreciate that you actually read my stories; I don't think everyone does. >.<
