On the left is an alternate, shinier texture than I originally used for this costume. Any thoughts are welcome!

I think the shiny version on the left is more visually interesting and works better when rendered.

Heh. I like 'em both, Marius but I am interested in which appeals to other viewers. It looks like the shinier version on the left is more visually pleasing to a lot of people which is good for teh Mollz to know!

The shiny one looks artificial. So it depends on context. The current fashion seems to be the shinier the better but I hate it.
That's interesting, Mazzam. I used the texture on the left (the less shiny one) because I have some of those same feelings. We may be in the minority on this one. Thanks so much for weighing in, my dear!

The left version has sharper outlines and more details, I follow the comments before. Regards Anne

I also prefer the version on the left, as it has better lighting giving it much more depth and detail in the bodysuit, mask, and cape. But, the version on the right is good for a darker, more dramatic effect. It probably depends on the mood your are trying to convey.
Thank you for weighing in! The lighting and pose is identical so the differences are all in the material. Your opinion seems to be with the majority but your thoughts about the intention of the artist are interesting. I do think the less shiny material is darker and maybe a bit more dramatic. I think most people like to see more detail. Thanks again!
