Great feeling of movement
wow, this really packs a punch, Barb---somehow or other you created a boat-like thing---it actually looks like a chest (treasure chest?) crashing into a maelstrom. It's really dramatic. I love the texture of the waves on top---how they get all grainy; and you have grain throughout the other waves too---it's almost like pastels. And it's really as much of a typhoon as an ocean---the waves are circling and enveloping that poor boat/chest; but you have real clarity on that chest: It almost looks like a holy sarcophagus or some ancient ritual enclosure (recently dug up in an archaeological expedition): I love the brass and the patterns...And the sky is a really dark apocalyptic sky. I know you said this render wasn't intended, but it's hard to believe this was an accident on the other hand, because it's so intense and unified. Whatever you intended, man you created a huge maelstrom. As I look back, you've so often moved between pure fractal and near-realism in your fractals; realism in the sense that you create very distinct physical objects---I know many factalists do that, but a much smaller number do them to where they're very tactile, visceral and 'real', like we could believe these things could be in the real world. Well that 'chest' is very tactile and concrete, and i'm dying to know what's in it...And you gave lightning and really dramatic clouds to emphasize the storm that's eating it up. A november storm w/ golds and marble-y patterns---I love this. It's beautiful. (If you said, "this is a photo out my window this morning," I'd say "get outa Dodge, like, NOW!!!")
The serendipitous unintentional render happens frequently with MB3D, I love it when what I see in the Nav window turns out even more interesting when rendered.
