End Of Watch
On September 15, our community lost a young hero. A 22 year old Police Officer who had only begun his career – and his life – was gunned down by a convicted felon (who shouldn’t have been walking the streets) while serving a warrant. The Training Officer that was with him returned fire and killed the gunman. The City of Independence had not lost an Officer in the line of duty since 2001.
He was laid to rest today. He began his career as an EMT, so fittingly an ambulance was used to carry him to his final resting place. The procession was miles long and included Police, Fire, and EMT units from all over the area. In a last act of this man’s selflessness (he was an organ donor), one of his kidneys will give another Officer from Springfield, Mo. an opportunity for additional years.
In these times of pandemics, stress, political uncertainties, and so many other negative influences, there is still good and light in this sad world.
The Ladies of T.N.A. and I pay our final respects to him, and salute all those who serve and protect. May God protect you, our brothers and sisters..

I had hoped to have the next page done by now, but when I opened up the file I was going to use for the first couple frames, all the figures had reverted back to the standard V4 for some screwy reason. Always something going awry anymore, it seems. It may well have been something I did as I have been doing a lot of re-organizing of files and so on.
Anyway, I’m now re-creating everything, so it might be a few days before I get the next page done. But I will – there’s a lot of stuff happening in this chapter.
With everything going on, I’ve been a little behind on commenting, but I’m getting caught up – or trying to, anyway..

I've had a cold so I've been late to the galleries. (I'm a little woozy, but at least it's not covid.) This is a strong tribute to that fallen officer. A tragic story, esp as he was ambushed by a convicted felon, and was so dedicated and young. It's touching that they used an ambulance for his final procession. Very touching and very sad, but also very brave.
Your line of saluting women is impressive, esp as you clothe them all in the same outfitm so we can see how distinct eac person is. Those look like space outfits, and the lineup lets us see the real variety in their stature, hair, etc. Esp with the changing colors. Also, you featured the ambulance which is also touching. (And an office behind it.) A striking piece, rod, with all those women saluting in a row. A touching tribute.
I have no idea how models or images change or revert on their own---I'll never understand 3D until I actually learn it. (If that happened to one of my drawings, I'd run outa here in a new york minute!) Good luck with your story, I know you've been inundated, tired, depressed, sick of covid and our wonderful politics...I wish you strength and wholeness. It's always special when you post, so your fans will never lose interest. I wish you the best this fall.
