A still life of glass of fine wine with some luscious trimmings.

There was a flash challenge for still life art here at Renderosity which I completely missed taking part of but I still wanted to create a new still life so here it is. It’s rather simple but I love it for its simplicity. I used some background props from a room setting and overhauled them with new Superfly materials (some from a presets and others of my own creation) to give them some really cool up-close realism. The lighting was tricky to create as I wanted it to be all from the candle which I could do but then it didn’t show enough details so I added a soft global IDL so everything could be seen. I’m happy with how it turned out and happy I managed to create something like this with all that’s going on in my personal life right now.

oh wow! This is simple superb, a truly fine image. I saw the flash challenge but didn't know where to start and even if I decided to try it would have definitely taken more than a few days. You did a fabulous job on this! A big bear hug to you my dear, I know you have a lot going on right now <3

This is totally excellent, Lizzie! I can almost taste the wine (we just bought a new bottle a few days ago... I may have to pop the cork after seeing your delicious work). Looks like a great way to take a break from everything. You did a great job on the lighting. Illuminating from a single point - like a candle - can be a hair-puller at times (which is why I don't have much left.. LOL). I'm working on a scene now with heavy back-lighting and multiple point lights. I need that glass of wine, I think... 😉

Very good work on this and came to my mind a poem - A Dream of Spring - Unheard not beautiful hate, While offering own wine to her enemy. And he carrying it all the way to the table. When sit in the chair; She waits for him to fill the empty glass in her hand. Like spilling her filled glass on the floor. Beautiful hatred between her gaze. Two more bottles arrive while leave the table. He sits on the chair.
