This is a highly zoomed photo so please excuse the focus. This bird (egret?) was catching fish at the end of a long stone jetty at sunset.
Richardphotos recently posted a wonderful photo of a white bird with turtles. So I thought I'd share mine, too.

I saw (and enjoyed) your dialogue with richard, and if that got you to post this, I'm way happy. The out of focus part is barely an issue because it's a huge spilling dramatic whoosh of seaweed and rocks (I love it), and the egret stands out powerfully because of its characteristic white. The water also stands out as a silvery sheet of metal. I love this shot, barb: That morass of flattened seaweed is the best, making an unkempt, dramatic badlands spill into that lone egret. It's like the egret crawled out of the primal mire. Somehow this captures the dramatic, primal feel of that coast. Terrific and bold!

It's a beautiful photo, I don't notice anything out of focus. Looks like he's found the local buffet - maybe some fish, a few sand crabs, or some tasty water bugs. Good eating there.

Great capture! He/She stands out very much in that dim place. I have saw such a bird came to a moat of a nearby temple. The bird was posing like a model while people clicked the camera shutter. They may be showing off their beauty.

thanks for posting this and the Egret is in focus. not always easy to get good focus when other stuff is in the way.
The dark color of the seaweed makes a very nice contrast to the white color of the egret and gives a good leading line to make my eyes focus on the egret. Very nice capture Barb.
