Great capture! The flow of feathers was clearly photographed. He/She looks like a sage living in the severe nature.

Great capture :) Looks like its giving you the once over...Yes, these guys are cheeky. I don't live too far from L.I. Sound, and know, when these guys show up in my neighborhood, really bad weather is coming our way. They will eat just about anything--even seen them eat whole chicken leg bones!

a must, full size...you got beautiful detail, which is mesmerizing because the shot is so subdued...it looks like an early morning or dusk shot, with those beautiful grays that make everything like a dream. And yet the gull has a sharpness which makes it stand out against that beautiful transitional light. Very frontal too, because its bold chest is in our faces while it looks around for prey. What a beautiful mood you caught. I love it.

(and yeah, gulls ain't afraid of nothin'...they have a word for what gulls do when they fly towards their prey: "mobbing". Sounds right, doesn't it? The gull mafia...They eat anything, they don't care...they have one of the shrillest songs of any bird by far, and you wouldn't want to meet one in a dark alley. They're so associated with chicanery, we get the word "gullible" from their name. Can you imagine being a young robin and taking a gull home to your parents---"mom, dad---this is Vinny Two Eyes." They'd stare at the gull all night, muttering, "where'd she find THIS one???" Poor gulls. They're rough around the edges, but they tell good jokes and clean the oceans of unwanteds...This is a wonderful shot)
