I used to live in a place like that, right on the beach. There were piles and piles of bleached white driftwood on the beach. Every evening I'd take a bucket with me and fill up on driftwood to burn in the fireplace. It burned fast, and didn't smell very good, but it was free wood and kept the heating bill down in the winter. Lovely photo.

I'm so glad you have more! Barb, this is terrifically clear and striking. I love how you caught those boulders, and the light shining on them. (This is the beginning of that way mystical coast line...ain't nothin' like it...) Love how the shadow defines the left side, and the water defines the right. And those new england homes back there. The sun piles in in just the right spot, and you have just the right amount of sky. Terrific capture. People from the great lakes would look and say: "Those are some major pebbles you got there, lady!" And you took this with a phone? Wonderful shot!

New England and the East Coast of the United States has lots of huge rocks from glaciers/the last Ice Age strewn about. Some could also be from from the ocean as we have many hurricanes here.
