Description

Nothing special. Was trying to learn how to use the fitting room, and I succeeded thanks to some help from some kind people in the forums. I fitted some boxers for Michael 4 to L'Homme. And then I wanted to try creating a mirror effect. Not sure why the reflective surface is black. Maybe somebody can tell me how to make it look like a real mirror. I also managed to get a back light that looked like a back light on the figure.

It still rendered nicely without the full mirror effect. Wish I could help, but haven't used Poser for many years now.

Try playing with the reflection color in the material tab. Also, what color is your background. There are many different ways to set the mirrors. I have one set the way I like it and have used it in most of my images. Some of your props likely have mirrors in their sets. See how they are set. Might give you some more ideas on how to set yours. Also, I love how this turned out! A most magnificent result from just 'playing around' I must say! Easily five stars from me!!!!!

Thanks for your help, Radar! I'll have to check the refection color. I don't remember changing it, so it must be whatever the default is. I also did not set a background color. I did hide the ground dome thing. It makes it hard to see where the lights are.

Nicely done. Remember that a mirror has to have something to reflect. If what's in the camera view is all that you have loaded, that's all the mirror can show; everything else will be black.

Thanks for you tip, starship64! All that was in my scene was what the camera was showing, so that is probably a reason.

Let me start with the mirror question. Mirror's, like in real life need something to reflect. In this case, you see he is reflected. The trick is you need off camera props (like what you want want the mirror to reflect). In other word's you need to create the remainder of the room behind the camera so that you can see it reflected in the mirror. If that is confusing site mail me and we will discuss further.

You already solved the other mirror problem people have with needing a back light so congrats on that !!!!

Congrat's on the progress you are making. Your work gets better with each render. Well done.
