Description
Originally I had a bit cooler of a plan, but things just wouldn't cooperate. This dress continues to remind me why I'm going to make sure it's "destroyed" so I never have to work with it again, and the parasol has been a general pain-in-the-butt to manuever around.
I was going to have her face off against all four guards with nothing but the umbrella. Now? The guards split up, sooo... I think it makes sense that she gets the drop on the first one, and picks up the SWORD, which is built to do battle. (The parasol isn't really built to do anything.)
I have to say. My favorite panel from this page is the bottom-left. That ended up with a ton of depth. Though if we pan out at ll, we'd find that the dress really doesn't like to bend for sitting/crouching. (I had to bend it more manually just to get a 90-degree to cover up the legs for this shot.)
Ended up relying quite a bit on the Mesh Grabber tool. I'm glad I picked that one up, lol. It saved this page from being a complete mess!
Knowing what I know now, I might be mapping out the next couple of pages just a little differently. I think I might take at least a panel to go check in on the Knight and the Fairy. They're about to get into a whole heap of trouble themselves. Then I also got to spend a panel or a page on Princess. She gets into less trouble, but no less interesting.
It's all coming together.
I had this mapped out for a couple more panels, but in the end, I think the page is fine. I can ditch the parasol now. And she can face off against the other three. That ought to be exciting, because the one guy has a poleaxe! (Yeah, it's probably better for Kyna that she lose the parasol now.)

excellent
Thank you!
You've done a great job of choosing the right moments to show in order to tell your story. This really is nice work.
Thank you very much!
Fantastic result! Great illustrations! Bravo! Well done!

Thank you very much! It's been a lot fo fun to do, too.
Cool!
Thanks!
Was worth being patient. Lovely work!
Thank you, Stevie! It's been interesting to see how much the actual props can affect the design. Makes me think that maybe sometimes the inaccuracies in a movie might have something to do with the props not cooperating otherwise.
Outstanding work !!
Thank you.
Fantastic creation,excellent done,like it a lot!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Ah! And here it is! Looks like he made the mistake of underestimating the capabilities of a clever and resourceful (and very lovely) lady! Ouch! It was fun seeing a bit of the behind the scenes for this page. It came out great! π
I may be looking into setting up my Twitch channel for some streaming. Maybe some BTS of putting some scenes together for TNA.
Sounds like fun! I need to actually watch more Twitch. Well, besides the Bob Ross stream. I watch that quite a bit. (He's the father of ASMR imho)
Your latest page turned out great!
Wow amazingly beautiful! Stunning story!!! ππββοΈ
Thanks!
I'm so far behind in comments!
Looks awesome!
Me too, my friend. I'm going to try and get the next page done today. Then I'll be "caught up" with the release schedule I set for myself.
I don't know if this will help you or not, but don't forget that you are doing 2d illustration and it's perfectly OK to render the skirt as a free-floating png and then put it in pshop and bend and twist it as needed, and then slap it back down on your page. Saves hours of fussing :D
That would exceed my editing skills currently, though I am learning. I came up with a fairly practical solution, but maybe some work in GIMP will help me overcome a different hurdle I've been having. Hmm. You've given me something to think about. Thank you for that, and thank you for leaving a comment!
