Description
The tenth preview image of a new version of my Table of Five series. A dwarven warrior (fighter), Tarl's family has operated a smithy in Silverymoon for generations. He saw the chance to fulfill his dreams of wandering the Silver Marches in search of adventure when the Table of Five came together, but did so against his father's will, marking him as an outcast under dwarven law.
This version of the Table of Five series is more of a reinvention then a revisiting... although several of the characters are significantly different than previous versions, Tarl is one of the two that remains fairly unchanged, other than a small change to his backstory. In previous versions he came from Mithral Hall in the Frost Hills on the eastern edge of the Silver Marches, but this time I consolidated all of the characters origins closer to Silverymoon to better facilitate the group's formation.

Interesting character with an interesting back story! Looks very friendly!
Thanks again for your kind comments! I'm going against the typical grumbling dwarf stereotype and made him friendly cheerful and excepting of other races... particularly elves.
Excellent, zaq :)

Having a stout dwarf in the company is a good thing! They do come in handy in a scrap....
Great portrait!
Thanks again for all your kind comments! Yes indeed... having a dwarf at your back in a fight is always a good thing.

Reminds me of John Rhys-Davies in his role as Gimli
Thanks for your kind comment! He's such an iconic character I don't think you can do a dwarf that doesn't remind you of him... I especially hear his voice when ever I read a line of dialog I've written for Tarl.
I like that grin he has!
Thanks again for your kind comments!
