Description
The Charcoal Contest starts next Tuesday. I guess they saw I was having too much fun writing a new story and want me to get back to work. So, anyway, how easy could a contest be? Just about everyone has photoshop, and photoshop has a charcoal filter. Which is fine, digital simulations are acceptable. This will really be a 'who can use filters best' contest. Of course, you can enter a real charcoal drawing, and there's even a category for photography, though to be honest I'm not sure how that's going to work.
Yeah, anyway, enter the contest, win something maybe, and show everyone your awesomeness. Everyone is awesome.
So, on this image, I didn't use a filter, I used an action and then a lot of editing. The image was stock from Pixabay, which is fine, as long as the image is no attribution required, and okay for commercial use.
Enter the contest. Or they might make me sleep outside and centipedes will crawl on my face. You don't want centipedes crawling on my face, do you?

OK... Well, I guess I'd better give it a shot... My skin just crawled off my body, and it's now hiding under the bed after that bit about centipedes crawling over your face... Ewwww.... That's only slightly better than getting caught in the web of a gigantic spider named Shelob... I'll see what I can come up with that doesn't scream my name... LOL

you did a great job on this image, but your images have been uniformly beautiful, hardly just "accompaniments" to your writing. I've loved what you've done visually. Re a charcoal thing: I hated charcoal so much, I don't think I could bring myself to do something with it ever again (I got it all over ME, not on the drawings; and the drawings wound up a big smear...). I'll be back soon for some more comments in your gallery...I've loved your longer stories once again; and you wrote somewhere (I think for Rod) that you too were doing "in between" work too---I think you meant not fully committed, interim stuff (I think that's what you meant): Well I don't get that feeling at all: I've been very impressed with your story, dialogue, descriptions, etc, and the images. If this is you in 'interim' mode, look out when you go full force. (I loved your playing around too...as here...) More soon. I gotta get rest now (had my 2d vaccine and I'm freakin' loopy...)
