Description
What this image has taught me is that I need to learn to work in the deep texture editor. There are two things that I tried unsuccessfully to change. Number 1, the randomness of the material on an infinite plane. It runs in straight lines giving it a striped look. That is fine for a fantasy image. Number 2, I wanted the green in the material to be only around the base of the mountains. I guess that's height mapping in the material. I added a basic height map to the material but didn't know how to make it affect the whole material. I watched a David Brinnen tutorial on doing just that but got lost quickly and don't remember a thing. I like this anyway and so I post it.

I like it too. Calling a scene alien does allow one to get away with a few "unplanned new ideas". The full (Earth's) moon in the sky takes me back to those days of watching 'Space: 1999'. I imagine an Eagle transport dropping down into the foreground in classic ITV style.

Lol, yeah, I know that moon is familiar looking but ya gotta use what ya got :) They aren't developing Bryce anymore so finding products for it is getting slim. Think I have most of the ones that interested me. Hubby is retiring on Feb. 28th so not sure what that'll do to my free time. We were supposed to go traveling while we are still relatively healthy but Covid has put a kink in our plans. Can't wait till everything opens up.
