Meet Annette and Janette! They're twins (born June 18th) and almost identical, physically. They're also fiercely loyal to each other. They live in a high-rise on a waterway through their city. They attend a prominent New England high school where they are freshmen. Their family is well off, but not filthy rich - they're attending all the "right" parties, but not running local politics. Janette is the cheerleader, yet Annette has plenty of school spirit. Janette is the studious one with the reserved behavior; Annette is daring and bold. Janette excels in classical, "acceptable" things; Annette finds untried ways to prove her worth. Janette would never embarrass her parents; Annette is less concerned for them, but would never embarrass her sister. Annette tries to get Janette to stretch her frontiers from time to time, but she never pushes hard enough to hurt her feelings. Janette respects Annette's need to explore, and has covered for her quite a few times, buying her time to extricate herself from whatever it was she should not have been doing. They are "A" students with perfect attendance records at school - one of them was even there when she was supposed to be! The other one is about to make a decision that will drastically change the path of her life.
