Alpine Loop - Driving the Apline Loop is spectacular. I'd place it right up there with driving through Yosemite National Park. While I only moved to Utah less than 3 months ago, I've visited many times, but until yesterday, I had never driven the Alpine Loop. Not counting stops, the entire loop takes about 1 hour from Lehi (going N to S) to Orem. I was just blown away by the ruggedness of these mountains. Spending my youth in California, I've hiked on the Pacific Coast Trail, Desolation Valley, Yosemite, Marble Mountains, as well as mountains in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado, but I've never seen ANYTHING this rugged. Unfortunately, my body has decided my hiking days are over. I wish I knew this was here before I took ill.
