Description
Today, it finally clicked. The Medic for my sky pirate crew. I happened upon the Ixcuina Serpent add-on in the marketplace, looking for something else. And I had it. A snake-folk. It makes sense, right? What's wrapped around the medical staff symbol?
And this is a fantastic texture. Had to buy Ixcuina as well to use it, but was well worth the price. Now, Ixcuina would not work though, shape-wise. No, my medic needed kind features. I found them in Taia HD for Victoria 7 from FWSA. I've had the model a while. I believe she was part of the Victoria 7 pro package, which had that most excellent sale last year on her birthday. (Bought them all. Now if only they'd do the same for some of the others...)
Now, to me, it would have been weird to give her hair. But it occurred to me that her head would get cold. The turban is from the 1930s Fortune Teller set for Victoria 4, upgraded of course with some gingham. Add some gold lips stick and some fancy nails - it's important to not frighten your patiens.
I thought about what to do for enviroment. I opted to use my favorite desert sky, from Aako. Iray Hazy Sunsets and Desert. Added our martial eagle friend from Griffen's render. It rendered in less than 10 minutes! Wow! That's twice in two days. I feel so lucky. And my computer won't be tied up until morning. Only all this smoke has made me really sick so I'm going to bed anyway.
So. HDRI. Wide spotlight. The idea with the vignette is that you're waking up, and this is what you see. I'm always wary about applying filters, but this seemed appropriate.
Her name is Sarah, though most folk call her Sissy. If you take the time to get to know her, you'll find a tragic past. Yet she keeps putting herself out there, keeping her heart open to those in pain.
And the last one to cause her pain got a visit from a very pissed-off vampire later...

Perfect choice, Lyle. Yes, for the snake medical symbol but also just more "layers" to the character. Great work. I love the perspective in this one too. :)
Thanks, Bella. Quick on the draw tonight.
I'm actually deathly afraid of snakes, but have this odd fascination with snake girls. nagas, Medusa, etc. I can't explain it. I played around with the idea of a robot medic for a while but it just didn't seem right. Than I say the Ixcuina set, saw the skin, and it was just so OBVIOUS. And teh longer I look at her, the more I hear of her story.
Have a good night. I'm going to be up. I think I'll stream a bit, since my computer has nothing better to do, lol.
Great work Lyle. I think it looks great.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
interesting render very good choice to take this perspective
Thank you. Makes you want to take her hand, don't it?
Simply Gorgeous Lyle!!👍🙋♂️
Thank you for your kind words.
Well done. Like it!
Of course, doing all these sky pirates and letting the players see some of them may have spoiled the surprise just a bit. Lol. But hey, they know they're going to meet the sky pirates, and only one of them has figured out that they're going to be playing a major part in the campaign. He put two and two together with the amount of time I put into the group.
Though, honestly, I think this crew is going to end up the start of their own book one of these days. I got to finish editing the current book, and I got another one waiting to be written, but yeah. They're just so much fun, you know?
Beautiful portrait!
Thank you very much!
She looks like she should fit right in with your cast of characters! A splendid and mysterious look to this one! She has many stories to convey. Just wait and see.
She certainly has stories to tell. But only if she trusts you enough to tell them.
I figure each pirate will represent different story hooks for the players. There's a vast crew, but it won't all be just one linear path. Should test my own skills GMing, but also gives me a chance to present a vast variety of options. There's a lot to do, testing-wise, so having a nice "open" world should accomplish much.
At times, constructing it feels a but like putting together a dating sim, though. (Lol)
Thank you for the kind regards.
Superb image. Very good POV!
Thank you! So glad you could stop in. I think I'll be doing a pinup with one of your cars here in a bit.
Keep safe, my friend!
Now that's truly awesome! Almost want to say your best yet....
I like to think the best is yet to come...
There's a vulnerabiluty here that's speaking to me. She's got her hand out, but also holds herself close. Fun to guess which characters the PCs are going to gravitate towards.
wonderful character
Thank you! Have a lovely day.
Excellent work!!!
Thank you, rb. Wishing you a lovely evening.
great pose and camera angle
bows humbly
Fantastic work! Belongs in an art museum as well! Grace and peace!!!
Aww. Thanks. Much appreciated!
Excellent character - I'm not surprised you went for the serpent look - quite subtle here. Great pose and expression.
Thank you. I wanted serpent, but I also wanted her to look "kind" so I felt this was the best way to go. Once I saw the snake skin for Ixcuilus, it just CLICKED.
very well.
Thank you! Very much.
You have a talent for words.. I have checked out your books amazing and also a beautiful talent for art. Believe it or not I can purchase you books online from here so look forward to the read.
Thanks! That would be awesome. Always happy to earn another reader. Let me know what you think!
She seems really compassionate as she reaches out to us - protecting us for the ravages of CV-19, or whatever scourge is on our doorstep. Awesome work, and I love the angle here.
Indeed - so perfect given the medical staff. I never thought about that, but yeah, it's a perfect fit! 👍👍
Thanks. She'd be immune, i think, but would work herself to the bone to help people recover.
I'm glad she's proving to be well-liked here. I kinda fell in love. Me and snake-girls... I run a little warm, so I imagine snuggles would be in order. Especially on those cold days.
Excellent
Thank you!
pretty attractive mysterious character, I would even say hypnotic, we gave her a flute tune to tame her, well done
Well, Simone plays a panflute at times, and Sarah does seem to sway with the music. Daisy plays a concertina, making her step lively in her med bay. And the Captain plays the cello, often in the middle of the night, bringing a tear to her eye.
Thanks for leaving a comment! I love to start my day by commenting on everyone's work, and then reading comments on my own. It's been a real blessing!
Totally gorgeous!
Thank you!
Fantastic scene, super image, klasse character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the visit, Mike. You have an awesome week, you hear?
