Description

Just because June is over, doesn't mean the #pride has to be tucked away! Rochelle and Aakash again, going for a nice drive along the beach. There are advantages to bench seats... This was an interesting one to do. I spent a lot of time on the posing, making sure they fit together in a realistic manner. Rochelle's operating the vehicle - this model is a stick shift - and Aakash is making it very clear just how close she wants to be. Of course, once you put the car back into the scene most of the subtlety is hidden. Still, i think it's important to set things up correctly, even if the camera can't see them. I like working with these two so much, I'm going to HAVE to write a story about them now. Hope you all enjoy! Thanks for looking. ~~LA

Great posing, lighting and expressions. My only point of criticism would be that the mesh resoultion of the car doesn't seem to serve a close-up shot like this too well. A more high-res vehicle would really make this work shine.

Oh, I agree! That's why I used a lower-resolution HDRI as well. I was hoping the sharpness of the characters would distract from the low-poly car.

Thanks!

Very nice render - their closeness and expressions do tell a story of their own.

Spectacular and fine looking image! The characters are divine! While Marco's observation on the vehicle is true, it still does not detract that much from the overall scene! The girls more than make up for the shortfall of their vehicle! A most charming and delightful image! Very nicely imagined and delivered! Many fine kudos!!!!

Your attention to details, even when they end up hidden, is commendable as those little details often carry through in more subtle ways and is what helps to make for great posing. I think you did a superb job on the posing and render. Kudos!

Thanks! My blender friend often tell me not to worry about what's not in the frame. I ignore him.

Yeah you do a lot of the same things I do, work out details that might not be seen. They do have a subtle impact. Besides. If you ever go back to it,months or years later, you'll have a much better idea of what you were thinking, than if you ignored all the stuff below the dash board. Really, the only time you need to cut corners is when system resources will be taxed, or if you are on a deadline. Marco's observation is correct, but hey, you work with what you got. If you're going for a full blown finished illustration, there are things you can and should do, but if your purpose is just to frame a setting for a story, then all you need is roadmap with a set of landmarks to get the idea across. I do that a lot.

It all shows in the overall naturalistic feel you have achieved. nice work.

As a a thought on Marco's comment, you could always sub-d the car to get a smoother curve without necessarily cripling your cpmputer...

I think it is a good scene to experiment with. I'll give it a shot. I have messed with the whole "Sub-D" thing yet.

I'll give it a go and see what happens.

Thanks for the feedback!
