some of your earlier drawings remind me of the young van gogh...also the facile thin and musical line of early picasso...I love how loose you are with the woman's head and bird---they kind of flow in and out of each other: This is a portrait of the energies of these two as much as these two, per se. There's your usual intense shading in spots, but most of the drawing is about line, moving, curving, intertwining...it even has a little of warhol's early line (not saying you were copying or influenced, just comparing...few know how beautiful warhol's pre 'popular' work was). And this gives the feeling of the melding of two beings as much as of two beings themselves---though that's truly a bird, and i love its cartoonish legs. You have wonderful energetic abstraction in many of your portraits. Another joy.
