Description
Saint-Malo est sur la côte nord-est de la Bretagne, près de la frontière avec la Normandie. La ville a bâti sa fortune quand, du règne de Louis XIV jusqu'en 1815 , elle a été une base pour les corsaires qui étaient autorisés par le roi à attaquer et à saisir les biens des navires des Anglais et des Hollandais. La ville a été largement détruite par les bombardements et les incendies lors de la deuxième guerre mondiale; beaucoup de ce que nous y voyons maintenant est une reconstruction de haute qualité. Des remparts entourent la vieille ville dite '' intra-muros''. Environ 46 000 personnes habitent Saint-Malo.
