Captured back on 12/5/2005, in beautiful Arcadia, California. Wickiup definition is - a hut used by the nomadic Indians of the arid regions of the western and southwestern U.S. with a usually oval base and a rough frame covered with reed mats, grass, or brushwood; also : a rude temporary shelter or hut.

Amazing looking place, and you caught a lot of light even in the shadows. (The doorway almost shines in orange. The trees in the back harmonize with the wikiup, in the way they fall down over the wikiup. When I first saw this, I thought it was a sweat lodge; but I think those are covered in tarps: This is more of a shelter. An imposing shot. And if we use our imagination, we can imagine this as a character with a shag hair cut, opening its mouth (ie, the door). This shot feels very 'living'. Well cropped too. (I'll bet these were cool in the summer, too. Wise choice of lodging.)
