I take it someone's been playing a lot of doom? I liked the original version, it was a lot more Lovecraftian, and gothic, and less blatantly Satanic. Subtle is better I think. You need to get the imagination working.
but is not doom universe, the character is used just for this scene "dieselpunk/uchrony universe", imagination ? :D
