Description
I created this picture in the 1990s to become part of a poster for a local conference on the International Women's Day. I want to illustrate the women's major role in providing life (physical, social, cultural, spiritual) and continuation of civilizations; a fundamental contribution to humanity, that needed to be done behind closed doors (privately at home with her children), but too often disregarded. This most difficult, but so essential work, that is done out from public view (in the dark, as illustrated) and that requires unique prudence-oriented judgment skills that most women have, needs to be recognized.
