Description
Kiki and Shep are the best of friends. Shep lets Kiki pull his ears and crawl between his legs. He keeps her out of trouble mostly. When she wants to stand up, he lets her use his fur as a gripping place and slows his pace to match her unsteady steps. He sleeps by her crib every night and most days, naptime starts with her curled up next to him. You don’t get many friends like that.

A heartwarming depiction of closeness between humanity and the animal kingdom. Hope all's been well during my absence, by the way. :)
I've known dogs who are totally protective of the children in their home, they stay by them, bark if anyone intrudes, and are so gentle with them, even when the dog is much larger than the child (as it is here). This is totally true to life. Dogs become our children and siblings...but they also become parents in a miraculous way. In their own unique way, they look out for us and protect us....On that note, I love the image and narrative. And (small point, but still) I love Kiki's white hat-top against that deep crimson couch. Your low pov puts us right into the meeting between these two; and Kiki's pose is perfect.
