I am sad to have to tell you that Arthur has died unexpectedly.
This is the message I received from Maria his wife
Sadly, Arthur had a heart attack at food bank on Monday and despite the best efforts of everyone his life support was turned off on Tuesday evening and he passed away. Obviously it has been a great shock but he went as he would have wanted and in a place that meant so much to him and surrounded by people he thought the world of.

It's a very moving photo who shows what a compassionate person Arthur was. Unfortunately 'was', which will be a great loss for all his loved ones. I'm so sorry.

I add my heartfelt condolences to you and his friends and family. It is always hard to lose someone so special but he will be remembered fondly for his good works and kind soul.
I’m so sorry to hear of Arthur’s passing. He and I had a lovely (if monosyllabic) friendship over the years. I always felt like we connected, and he was a big influence on my work. His eye for composition was always a delight to me, and his sense of humor tickled me.
