A year earlier in 2245:
A 3rd class neutronic fuel carrier disappeared from UESPA's tracking satellites
after a rather odd transmission was received:
Imperative! This is the Kobayashi Maru, ...nineteen periods out of Altair Six. We have struck a gravitic mine and have lost all power. ...Our hull is penetrated and we have sustained many casualties.
The massage failed to mention the attack on the ship by three Klingon battlecruisers.
