Description
Kamouraska

The place was recognized as one of the main resorts in Canada from the beginning of the 19th century for the splendor of its landscapes and the good reputation of the salt waters of the St. Lawrence estuary. Indeed, the surveyor Joseph Bouchette declared that the region was "famous in the province for its healthy climate" in 1813 and the journalist Arthur Buies declared that "to go to salt water means to go to Kamouraska".
