For Lady Penelope Genevieve Philpott-Neathergarden, being raised in the comfort and security of a royal Sovereign house was living as a captive with a society she despised. Forced to comply with the Sovereign societal rules and expectations placed upon a gifted young lady of of the Imperial Bloodline, Penelope spent her days attending Imperial court functions, listening to hours of mind-numbing gossip, feigning interest in court politics, and politely smiling and at the devious, scheming, backstabbing courtiers all vying for status and position within the Imperial Court's pecking order. Trapped in the most gilded of cages, she longed for the freedom of adventure where corsets, hidden agendas, and smiles like unsheathed daggers did not exist. Yet, there was no way out -- until she met and fell in love with Polonius Neathergarden.
