We had a couple AC-119's at our base when I was stationed at Udorn. Thailand. They didn't carry cargo, though. They had a couple gatling guns and a 20mm cannon hanging out the side. They could lay waste to an area twice the size of a football field in a few seconds. Their slow speed and load capacity made them ideal as gunships.
