Congratulations! I can readily see why this image was selected. I adore your attention to detail. All that greenery and flowers give a luscious feel to the scene. I like the body language. It says lonely without going over into melodrama – which is a place my art usually lives ;-) I also like the little details of the shoes and the necklace. They make her seem more real, somehow. Excellent work on the composition, too. The distant house and the fence provide just the right touches to center our attention on her. I would love to see you revisit this with some fall lighting and foliage – warm shadows and golden colors would be a joy to watch you work with.

Congratulations again!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on the render. I have to be honest though and much of what you actually like is contained a scene I used called 'Wild Borders' by Merlin Studios which includes the fence, the flowers and even the background. All I have done is used my character, derived from Dawn SE, and selected and then modified what I thought was a suitable pose. Having set up the scene and camera angle I rotated the background to place it where it is, the idea being to give the render some depth. I think the hardest thing for me was getting the expression right and placing the shoes to look right was problem. Well that and the lighting.

As is often the case I played with the materials on the dress, shoes and necklace. I never aim for photo realistic renders more what I call believable. Small as they are little touches like necklaces, bangles tend to add reality. Often in indoor scenes I will add mirrors, clocks, a pair of discarded shoes and the like, all in an attempt to make it look right.

I have said elsewhere I do not regard myself as a 3D artist more a digital chef, I take a number of ingredients to try and tell a story or convey a feeling or emotion.

Thank you again for your comments, one of the things I cannot do is see my art through other peoples eyes so I am always interested in other thoughts, grateful when they take the time to comment, and amazed when a render of mine is selected like this.
