Description
Le léopard de l’Amour (Panthera pardus orientalis), aussi appelé panthère de l'Amour et panthère de Chine, est une sous-espèce du léopard vivant dans le sud-est de la Russie (région du Primorié) et dans le nord-est de la Chine (province du Jilin).
Elle est classée « en danger critique d'extinction » depuis 1996 par l’Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature (UICN). Seuls 50 individus sauvages ont été recensés en 2012, en plus de 200 individus en captivité1.
Son nom fait référence au fleuve Amour, qui coule en Sibérie et en Chine.
The Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis), also known as the Amur leopard and the Chinese leopard, is a subspecies of the leopard that lives in southeast Russia (Primorye region) and northeast China (Jilin province).
It has been classified as Critically Endangered since 1996 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Only 50 wild individuals were recorded in 2012, in addition to more than 200 individuals in captivity.
Its name refers to the Love River, which flows in Siberia and China.
