Tribute to Alma-Tadema - one of my favorite painters, I saw the Tadema dress here on Renderosity and decided I wanted to paint something in the style of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. His painting, Expectations, was the inspiration for my painting. One woman looks out to sea waiting for the men to return, while the other one has grown weary of waiting. By the way, this is NOT a render, but a hand-painted digital painting. I do character renders for my models, and prop renders to get proportions. Much like someone might use a photographs for reference when doing paintings. (Plein air was out of the question since Greece is too far for me to travel. And... hiring two models... I figured DAZ can provide my reference materials.)
