To the vets last night at 10.30 for poor Miss Stella.
I thought at lunchtime that her eyes looked a bit funny, as though she was losing all her hair round the rims. I decided to keep watch on them.
She was fine in herself, she went on a walk later on in the evening but when she arrived back, still full of life, she looked as though she had gone 6 rounds with Mike Tyson.
Her eyes were so swollen they were almost closed & her nose was swelling up. A call to the vet, (luckily it is only over the road from us) & he said to take her in.
I thought maybe she had been stung but Peter (vet) said had she eaten anything that could have caused an allergic reaction. Everything she had eaten that day was nothing that she hadn't had before.
He gave her an injection that would last her 5/6 days. Said to keep eye on her in case her throat swelled.
We kept an eye on her all night & thankfully everything went back to normal with no lasting effects.
Bit scary though to see her head twice the size.
Thanks for the lovely comments, so appreciated. x

Cripes, that must have been scary...bad enough when we get an allergic attack, but when a non-communicative pet is hit with something like that, it is nerve wracking...so glad things have returned to normal. Perhaps it was late summer pollen that got to her?
Nice shot
It horrible when one of your "kids" get sick. I'm so glad to hear she's ok.
I'm glad she's doing better now. It would be scary, to say the least.
Wow, I am so glad she is alright, that would have been scary, great capture!
Makes you wonder what they're spraying on the land! Grrr! Oh, I'm so happy things appear to have eased and I'm sure it will not return any time soon!

Poor thing, I wonder what she got into?
My dog liked to munch on edible debris when I took her for a walk. She even developed a stealthy way of turning her head away so that I wouldn't notice her chewing. She knew perfectly well that I would take it away. I was so afraid of her consuming something harmful, or even poisonous. In short, I know just how you felt.
