A while since posting given many recent events.
Have recently been awarded Fellow status of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers - recognising
an exceptional commitment to UK Engineering. A very welcome and hard won professional achievement!
Have also been supporting the restoration of one of 'V' series Vulcan bombers (XL426), from the 1960's. A superb showpiece of historic British aerospace engineering, supported by a great team of volunteers at Southend, in making her slowly operational again. I will post some pictures shortly.
Inspiration for the image here is (loosely), based on an old English folksong - namely 'Thomas the Rhymer'. It is said that the queen of Elfland appears to Thomas one day, and tasks him to come away with her to Elfland. With his consent, she shows him three marvels: the roads to Heaven, Hell, and her own home. After seven years, serving her in the latter, Thomas is returned home. and given a gift of prophecy to remember the queen by. A fascinating tale, and well worth further reading about the real life 'True Thomas'.

Impressive!!! I'm surprised the restoration of the Vulcan doesn't eat up more of your time. . . then you just go home and whip out some beautiful art work! I salute you, from an artist and aviation buff!!!
