Description

Dreaming of Route 66 - Just a few months before I contracted MG, I took a 30-day journey from Chicago to L.A. on Route 66. I had been dreaming of doing it for years, and I'm glad I did it when I did it because had I waited one more year I would not have been able to do it. Along the way I documented many places that were once thriving businesses, but are now just ghost shells of buildings. In this render, I used DAZ's Moonshine Diner and 1950's car to create a "dream" superimposed over a current-day Route 66 scene. I imagined a drive-in diner with a young lady driving a 1956 Chevy DeLuxe Coupe as she starts to pull over to pick up a burger, fries and a Coke. The present day scene still haunts the road - an old Motel, and some outbuildings are all that's left of the small town. Photo from my September, 2017, Route 66 trip. Car and diner rendered in DAZ3D 4.10. Final image digitally painted.
