A very beautiful monument and wonderful photo!
I'm not sure if my eyes are deceiving me but it seems like the branches have grown through the statue? My neighbor's tree has grown around the electric wires and has caused several power outages. Now there are sections of tree branches that were cut, which are still attached to the wires. Great photo btw!
an illusion I think, but back when I was still working I seen many trees that had enclosed steel 2" pipe completely

The statue is 139 years old! Is in very good conditions except for the missing hand.
