Description
There is no doubt about it. Light Creates Mood. In this image I wanted her pose and expression to show the ecstasy she was feeling about being pregnant. She did a great job.
To light it I had a backdrop light with a scrim to cast the arch across the background. I also lit her with a small softbox camera right. Unlike some other maternity images, I did not want the belly to be the center of attention here. As in most portraits, I wanted her face to be the center of attention. Hence, the face is the brightest lit part of her body.
