_______ Heavy snow was forecast for today, so I took my Nikon yesterday and drove up the Ballon d'Alsace, one of the highest mountains in the south of the Vosges, about 20 minutes from home. Then, it was an hour hiking with snow-shoes to the end of this trail, with a steep cliff ahead, overlooking the Rhein valley and Alsace Plain under a thick layer of mist, with the Swiss Alps in the distance and the Jungfrau (4,158 m), the Eiger(3,970 m)right before my eyes!

A trail that ends abruptly in a abyss always impressed me..! The light shining in the snow is simply marvelous and the immensity of the other side*, raising to the sky is astonishing. It is a Perfect capture, to make us aware of our littleness in front of the grandiosity of Nature . Thank you for sharing this wonder . I'm sure that you have a lot of pics:) ! (And thanks for your thoughts in my last upload)
This is a wonderful view. The texture of the snow, the distant mountains and the beautiful sky. It's all there. You even managed to capture an airplane in the top left corner!
