_______ Heavy snow was forecast for today, so I took my Nikon yesterday and drove up the Ballon d'Alsace, one of the highest mountains in the south of the Vosges, about 20 minutes from home. Then, it was an hour hiking with snow-shoes to the end of this trail, with a steep cliff ahead, overlooking the Rhein valley and Alsace Plain under a thick layer of mist, with the Swiss Alps in the distance and the Jungfrau (4,158 m), the Eiger(3,970 m)right before my eyes!

Cette magnifique photo (et je pèse mes mots !) invite à aller jusqu'au bout et...non pas à sauter mais à se perdre dans la beauté du paysage. Et quand je pense que certaine personnes n'aiment pas la montagne !!! (et il y en a qui vont voir depuis un petit avion...comme celui qu'on voit ici)

Outstanding! A truly breath taking view. You are a brave soul to undertake that hike in this weather. I am one of those people who only venture outside in winter when driven by absolute necessity.
