I think this lighting brings out the .... ummmm. ehem... beauty of character better. Who would argue, anyway :D. Great job! (I f you are using Photoshop you may want to do a curves adjustment on the red using the handtool to to spot the color around his arm and just reduce a tad so he looses the pink there.)
Thank you for the feedback and the tip, RRun. I am using Photoshop, in this case to paint the background as I rendered him against a solid color. I lit this using a spot, two mesh lights, and HDRI, opting to leave the HDRI dome visible. I see what you mean regarding the pink and will make a pass at it with Curves as suggested.
