Description

Peeling paint deluxe, captured 5/10/08, somewhere around the neighborhood. Some scraping and sanding, followed by a primer and fresh paint job, and it's good as new, right? I doubt it.

Geeesch! This homeowner needs to call the overhead door company.

Heres the number (719) 596-2171

Great capture of it, love the peeled paint.

We fixed that problem here - had a new one installed by Overhead Door...

Wonderful textures here, my friend!

As always, you know the only reason I skip images is because of the length of my comments. I hope to get more of the older ones, in the next visit or two. But I couldn't do a session without commenting on another of your peeled garage door shots. (I mean it's great that you even shoot these things to begin with.) Love the striations and the visual music you coaxed out here. The top shot is more of an "establishing" shot (to use movie jargon): I don't know if it's the same garage door, but it has a larger 'overview' feeling. And you caught more flatness, with it (with some wonderful peach tones). 2 and 3 go to freaking TOWN with all that decay! Great shots of peeling paint, its edges, that bright earthen pink, and the topographical-map look of those forms. What an ocean of decay! I love these. (One wants to knock on the door of these owners and say: "Love what you've done with the place!") (And they'd sock me in the face---and i wouldn't blame them!) A rich, wild bunch of shots, with a whole continent of decay. You're one of a handful of photographers who will never, ever run out of inspiration, because you find it wherever you are. This is a prime example.
