The long journey was almost over. The last mile into the Palace was to be done with full pomp and ceremony. The elephant had been decorated and adorned with the royal Howdah. The Prince was dressed in his finest and the Rajah’s newest bride was in her best traveling outfit. The fact that neither of them seemed particularly overjoyed was only noticed by a few. The week-long trek from the neighboring Kingdom had gone as smoothly as was possible, but the young Princess was not looking forward to being the fifth wife of an old man. The Prince was silently seething because, until a month ago, this particular princess was to be his wife, not his father’s. Tensions between the two Rulers had become dangerous and the girl’s father had insisted that marriage to a mere Prince would not placate the rebel factions of his people. Thus the fate of these two pawns had been sealed. After all these years, I finally got around to using the Howdah set. One thing lead to another and this is what you get.
