Great find and wonderful closeups of the SteamPunk machine
What a find! Steam driven pump and drawn by horses - a classic old fire engine... Great shots of it, my friend!

Cool old fire equipment!
Awesome. Did they have to keep the boiler going all the time? I
I promised I'd come back for more during this return to RR, and it's my pleasure to do so. This was one of the series I wanted to sit with. You've posted a number of these big, highly complex, beautifully-hued shots of fire engines. Quite a collection so far.
This old beast feels so rickety and tinker-toy-ish at first blush. Then when we look closely, it's so elegant and complex. Your first shot---taken with the same panache you show in your automobile shots---shows off not only the spindly lines of the thing, but that big tank in back. It's such a lopsided-looking creature, and all your shots bring that out. (I bet you wanted to rip that 'do not cross' ribbon out of the way...it must be frustrating to have to shoot with all the interfering accouterments of a museum or show...)
The second shot shows it moving into the light, and we see the tank in all its clunky glory. (With that light, it looks like a scene from a film where the engine goes riding off to heaven...) The third, you get a real sweep---love the lineup of engines back there, which the yellow ribbon leads us to, visually. A really rich shot. And the fourth is a closeup of the big gadgety bulbous engine. Love the mix of chunky stuff all crammed together. This type of layout is one of your specialties as well, because you've always handled visual confluence extremely well. (Your padlock shots were an example of that.) A fine group of beautiful old subjects.
