I have used the Superfly rendering engine only a few times since I simply didn't have the interest (mental energy) to delve into its inner workings; however, since I was so frustrated with the last image I created in P10's Firefly, I was curious to see how P11 would handle the gal. Both these images were rendered in P11. I used EZ Skin 3 for both: this is such a wonderful, godsend python for P11. I know for sure I would never use the Superfly render engine for any of my V4 textures in Superfly without first using EZS3.
Same pose, light brought down 50% in the Superfly image provided these results. Even cranking up the light for the Firefly render didn't really improve the outcome. Perhaps I could have lowered the light setting even farther in the Superfly image, but there is simply no contest which engine handles dark-skinned characters better. Didn't make any changes for hair or cloth either. I am going to experiment with a scene (one of Stonemason's probably).
I am curious what others have experienced with Superfly, so please don't be bashful and do leave a comment regarding your thoughts about Superfly.

Quite a difference. I only had P10 so I never dealt with Superfly. It seems well worth the effort. She looks great with Superfly.
Very good comparison, and the Superfly render is much better! I have PP-11, but never had much luck with it for some reason. I may put it on my recently repaired laptop and see how it does. I know the Superfly requires some fiddling to get it to look good. I'll have to grab Snarly's EZ Skin 3... I've been using EZS2 for years - it's an essential addition to Poser in my book.
The problem is lighting strength, particularly with dark skin textures. I use Firefly exclusively as it is faster (though not as true as Superfly - which is trying to be a Reality engine). Check out my gallery which has quite a few dusky maidens in there all quite well lit owning to use of several lights. Think studio, big arc lamps, perhaps several. Happy to send you a file if you think it might help along with the other settings. Don't give up, you can do it :)

With superfly you can do great render, lightning and material setup is not so difficult as it looks at the beginning.
