A glowing rendition of Rapunzel (whose name may have meant a flower...though no one knows for sure where the Grimm's got the name)...you've dressed her in a stunning striped dress, with deep reds and whites and black stripes in between. And you've "harmonized" with the reds via a red bird (a cardinal, I assume) and even red tints in the leaves outside her window, and red tints in the mountains in the background. A ravishing outfit, and I love how her hair is braided: In the versions I remember, as a child, her hair was unbraided and just dragged along the ground. Here, you've given her long beautiful braids, with red highlights in the top. A beautiful rendition of the old tale. (The Grimm brothers got their tales from tale-tellers across Northern Europe, and wrote "composite" tales based on the many versions they collected orally. But those oral tales may have originated in ancient India...Also---you may know this---they wrote a famous, massive scholarly work, the Deutsches Wörterbuch, which was the forerunner of several major dictionaries in the 20th C, including the Oxford English Dictionary, which runs 20 volumes...)
