Description
They had been gone for a year at distances that made communication impossible. When they returned the cities were empty. Lights were still on, computers were still running, music played from speakers, clothing hung in closets, but there were no sign of the inhabitance. It was like that in every city. The people had just vanished without a trace.
Getting ready for a sci-fi Convention (WorldCon San Jose, CA). Wanted to have some new art.

Here is something that no one thinks about anymore. Eye movement through a picture. For example, with this picture you look at the figure, settle on the gun, which points at the tank, which points at the ship (the moon stop you from looking past it), across the ship to the fighter, to the antennas, down the antennas to the bottom of the building or the dark ledge at the bottom, which points to the figure, up the leg to the face, which points to the antennas, down and back to the figure. It leads the viewer through the picture. Also, the figure not centered adds tension and interest to the image. - Bob
