I know woody allen is out of the loop now, but he did say some funny things; and one of them was that nature was a "gigantic lunch". This illustrates that perfectly. Esp with the contrast of the spider's stunning white with the hoverfly's usual blacks and browns. And you got the spider's natural camouflage in those striking white ammi flowers; and, against a near black background, it stands out like a visual slap in the face. Wonderful eye-popping capture. And when you ask, "Misumena vatia and Eristalis, nemorum?"---what'm I gonna say: "Noooooooooooooo..." (And then I'll make up a name.) (Lauropetium meriflora gladiorus...) I think one has to be very close to nature to get shots like this: an amazing shot of nature in the raw, with amazing contrasts.
